Part I
Principles of groundwater hydrology: permeability, transmissivity, storage. General equation of flow in satured porous media, Laplace's eq, flow nets, graphic solution. Infiltration, Richards' eq. Empiric solutions for infiltration. Green-Ampt method. Groundwater and well hydraulics in steady state. Dupuit-Forcheimer conditions. Complete wells in confined and unconfined aquifers. Thiem's eq, Dupuit's eq. Assessment of groundwater pollution risk and vulnerability. DRASTIC and SINTACS methods.
Part II
Introduction to groundwater modeling. MODFLOW and ModelMuse (GUI). Modeling grid, layers, object, data-sets. 2D and 3D modeling approaches for the steady state. Resolution of case-studies in MODFLOW/ModelMuse.
